IT Officer Full Time

Position: IT Officer
Department: Finance and Accounting Department
Reports To: Finance and Accounting Manager
Location: Plot No. 50410, Off Morogoro Road, Ubungo, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

Job Purpose:
To provide technical support, maintain IT systems, and ensure the security and functionality of all information technology infrastructure at the office and factory.

Key Responsibilities:
Technical Support & Troubleshooting

• Provide first-level support for all hardware and software issues for staff.
• Inhouse training of IT sopftware, hardware for staff
• Diagnose and resolve technical issues with desktops, laptops, printers, internet, and network devices.
• Set up new computers, software, and user accounts.

Network & Systems Administration

• Maintain and monitor local area network (LAN), wireless networks, and internet connections.
• Ensure firewalls, routers, and switches are configured and functioning properly.
• Perform regular system backups and recovery procedures.

IT Security & Data Protection

• Implement and maintain cybersecurity protocols (antivirus, firewall, data encryption).
• Monitor systems for vulnerabilities, malware, and unauthorized access.

Ensure data confidentiality and integrity in line with company policy and data
protection laws.
Systems Maintenance

• Ensure that software (e.g., Windows, Microsoft Office, antivirus, ERP systems) is up to date and legally licensed.
• Maintain and update inventory of IT hardware and software assets.
• Coordinate the repair and maintenance of IT equipment.

Website, Email & Communication Systems

• Manage the company website, corporate email accounts, and internal communication
  platforms.
• Assist in maintaining online databases and intranet resources.

Documentation & Reporting

• Keep records of IT problems and resolutions.
• Prepare monthly IT status reports and submit to management.
• Document IT procedures and system configurations.

Support Digital Systems

• Assist with the use and management of digital systems such as attendance tracking, payroll software, CCTV, or production monitoring tools.
• Provide user training and orientation to staff on new systems or tools.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.
• At least 3–5 years of working experience in a similar role.
• Proficiency in network administration, system security, and IT support.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office 365, Windows Server, and network devices.
• Experience with ERP systems or factory management software is an advantage.
• Strong problem-solving and interpersonal skills.
• Excellent communication in English and Kiswahili.
