Finance Manager Full Time

Job Summary
The Finance Manager is responsible for leading all financial activities within the
organization, including budgeting, cost engineering, statutory compliance, reporting, ERP
accounting, procurement oversight, and financial strategy. This role plays a critical
leadership function in managing the financial health of a manufacturing
facility—particularly in the processing of fruits and vegetables—ensuring strict compliance
with Tanzanian tax laws and labor regulations, while supporting sustainable growth and
cost efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Financial Planning & Analysis

• Lead the preparation of annual budgets, financial forecasts, and strategic financial
  plans.
• Provide variance analysis and financial insights to guide decision-making.
  Analyze and monitor operational performance, overheads, and profitability.

Product Cost Engineering

• Develop and implement accurate product costing models for raw materials, labor,
  processing, packaging, and overhead.
• Work closely with production, procurement, and operations teams to engineer cost
  efficiencies across the value chain.

Monitor waste, yield, and labor productivity to ensure product margin integrity.

ERP System Management

• Manage the company’s accounting model within the ERP system, ensuring proper
  configuration and workflow automation.
• Oversee accurate general ledger postings, reconciliations, and month-end closing
  processes.
• Supervise the finance team in maintaining accurate records aligned with IFRS and Tanzanian standards.

Financial Statement Preparation

• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for internal management
  and external stakeholders.
• Ensure statements reflect accurate positions on revenue, cost of sales, inventory,
  assets, liabilities, and cash flow.
• Support audits and ensure full documentation for all financial reports.

Accounts Receivable &Payable

• Monitor receivables and ensure timely collections, accurate customer reconciliations,
  and aging controls.
• Manage payables, vendor reconciliations, and timely settlement of obligations in line
  with cash flow plans.
• Implement credit control and vendor relationship management systems.
  Procurement Oversight
• Oversee and enforce procurement policies and controls, ensuring cost-effective
  purchasing aligned with production needs.
• Review and authorize purchase orders, supplier contracts, and pricing agreements.
• Coordinate closely with the operations and inventory teams to manage supply chain costs.

Taxation & Statutory Compliance

• Ensure full and timely compliance with Tanzania Revenue Authority (TRA) and other
  statutory bodies.
• Liaise with TRA and external consultants during audits and assessments.
• Monitor updates in Tanzanian financial and labor regulations and apply them proactively.

Cash Flow & Treasury Management

• Prepare rolling cash flow forecasts and manage liquidity to meet operational needs.
• Monitor bank balances, optimize fund usage, and manage investment or loan facilities
  if applicable.

Banking & Financial Institution Relations

• Serve as the primary liaison with banks, ensuring smooth execution of all financial
  transactions.
• Manage loan documentation, overdraft facilities, letters of credit, and bank
  reconciliations.
• Negotiate and maintain favorable banking terms, and address any discrepancies or
  issues proactively.

Internal Controls & Risk Management

• Design and implement internal controls across all finance-related processes.
• Ensure compliance with audit requirements and internal policies.
• Identify financial risks and recommend appropriate mitigation strategies.

Team Leadership & Collaboration

• Supervise, train, and mentor finance and accounting team members.
• Collaborate with operations, procurement, and executive leadership to align finance
  with company goals.
• Foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and performance within the finance
  department.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Certified Public Accountant (CPA-T) or ACCA is mandatory.
• Minimum of 5 years of financial management experience, ideally in manufacturing,
  FMCG, or agribusiness.
• Strong understanding of Tanzanian tax laws, labor laws, and statutory reporting
  frameworks.
• Experience with ERP systems and inventory/cost accounting in a factory setting.

Skills & Competencies

• Strong financial analysis, forecasting, and cost engineering capabilities.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP software.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skills.
• High integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
• Strategic thinking and ability to bridge financial and operational priorities.

Working Conditions
Primarily office-based with routine interaction with production, procurement, and external
stakeholders. Occasional extended hours may be required during reporting cycles, audits, or
operational reviews.
