Finance Officer Full Time

What You Will Achieve:

• Prepare clear and on-time financial and donor reports that follow all grant rules and donor terms.

• Handle monthly payroll while following all tax laws and company rules.

• Keep clean and updated financial records—log invoices, payments, and credit notes in the system.

• File monthly tax and legal payments (like PAYE, NSSF, NHIF) on time to avoid fines.

• Do monthly bank checks (reconciliations) to make sure all account details match—no errors.

• Get ready for audits by keeping neat, easy-to-check records and helping the auditors as needed.

• Watch and report what the organization owes and what it’s owed—follow up on late payments.

• Enter all transactions into QuickBooks (or similar tools) with full accuracy.

• Check all papers and receipts before paying—make sure they are correct and real.

• Make sure all payments (to staff, vendors, taxes) are sent on time to build trust and avoid delays.

What You Will Need to Be Successful in this Role:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• CPA certification (or equivalent professional accounting qualification) is highly preferred.
• Minimum 3 years of experience in finance and accounting, preferably within an NGO or donor-funded environment.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting standards, donor compliance, and financial best practices.
• Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated experience in financial reporting, audit support, and payroll processing.
• Strong attention to detail, analytical skills, and organizational ability.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively with teams.
• Fluency in English and Swahili; understanding of local financial laws and tax compliance is essential.
