The company is a leading interior design, fit-out, and space planning firm based in Dar es Salaam, specializing in residential, commercial, retail, and corporate interior solutions. To support accurate project planning, execution, and quality assurance, the company requires a Surveyor with strong experience in site measurements, layout verification, technical drawings, and material quantification.
The objective of this role is to provide precise site measurements, ensure accurate dimensional data, support designers with verified site conditions, and assist in cost estimation, BOQs, and project execution. The Surveyor ensures that all measurements and site data meet the company’s design, safety, and construction standards.
Conduct accurate site measurements, dimensions, and levels for interior design and fit-out projects.
Prepare site survey reports, sketches, and measurement summaries.
Verify existing conditions, structural elements, MEP locations, and architectural features.
Use surveying tools such as laser measure, total station, level instruments, and digital tools.
Provide as-built measurements to support the design team.
Cross-check floor plans, elevations, sections, and layout drawings against site conditions.
Identify measurement discrepancies and communicate design implications.
Assist in preparing or verifying as-built drawings, working drawings, and technical documentation.
Assist in preparing Bills of Quantities (BOQ) and material lists based on field measurements.
Provide dimensional data for cost estimation, budgeting, and procurement.
Verify quantities on site for material planning, installation, and project monitoring.
Collaborate with the design team, project managers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
Conduct periodic site checks to ensure construction follows approved measurements.
Provide technical input during site handovers, inspections, and approvals.
Ensure all surveys comply with safety standards, building codes, and project specifications.
The Surveyor will deliver high-quality, accurate, and timely outputs including:
Comprehensive site survey and measurement reports
Verified dimensions and as-built condition summaries
Updated / cross-checked layout drawings
BOQ inputs and material quantification reports
Site verification updates during construction
Final as-built measurement documentation
Diploma or Degree in Land Surveying, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or related field.
Minimum 3–5 years surveying experience, preferably in interior design, fit-out, construction, or architectural projects.
Proficiency with surveying equipment (laser tools, tape, level instruments).
Understanding of CAD software (AutoCAD preferred).
Strong knowledge of measurement standards, interior layouts, and building construction.
Excellent communication, accuracy, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and meet deadlines.
The Surveyor reports directly to the Project Manager / Lead Interior Designer.
Duration: Ongoing or project-to-project basis (as specified).
Some assignments may require urgent site visits or short turnaround times.
Primarily in Dar es Salaam, with occasional travel to client sites as required.
