Security Guard

1. Job Purpose

To ensure the safety and security of company property, employees, clients, and visitors by maintaining a secure environment, preventing unauthorized access, and responding effectively to incidents.

2. Key Responsibilities

• Guard and patrol assigned premises to prevent theft, vandalism, or unauthorized entry.
• Control entry and exit of staff, visitors, and vehicles at the gate or main access points.
• Monitor surveillance cameras, alarms, and other security equipment where applicable.
• Record all movements in the occurrence book (OB) and report any unusual activity immediately.
• Inspect buildings, equipment, and access points to ensure they are secure after working hours.
• Assist in handling emergencies such as fire, accidents, or disturbances by following proper procedures.
• Escort visitors or employees when required to ensure safety.
• Check and verify delivery notes, tools, or materials leaving company premises.
• Maintain cleanliness and order around security posts.
• Perform any other related duties assigned by the supervisor or management.

3. Qualifications & Experience

• Certificate of Secondary Education (CSEE) or equivalent.

• Prior experience as a security guard or similar role preferred (minimum 1–2 years).

• Training in basic security, first aid, or fire safety is an added advantage.

• Physically fit and able to stand or patrol for extended hours.

• Good communication and observation skills.

• Integrity, discipline, and reliability are a must.

4. Skills & Competencies

• Alertness and attention to detail.

• Ability to follow instructions and respond quickly to situations.

• Basic recordkeeping and report-writing skills.

• Respectful, courteous, and professional at all times.

• Familiar with security equipment (radios, flashlights, CCTV systems, etc.).

5. Working Conditions

• Work schedule may include day and night shifts, weekends, and public holidays.

• Work environment may involve outdoor and indoor duties depending on site location.
