Raw Materials Supervisor Full Time

Job Purpose:
To oversee the receipt, inspection, handling, storage, and internal distribution of raw materials to ensure continuous and compliant production. The Raw Material Supervisor ensures that all raw materials meet quality standards and are managed in line with hygiene, food safety, and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities:
Raw Material Management:

• Supervise the receiving, unloading, and proper documentation of all incoming raw materials.
• Planning raw materils with production
• Verify quantity and quality against purchase orders and specifications.
• Ensure that all raw materials are appropriately labeled, stored, and rotated using FIFO (First In, First Out) or FEFO (First Expired, First Out) systems.

Quality and Compliance:

• Work closely with the Quality Assurance team to sample and test raw materials upon arrival.
• Reject and document non-conforming materials and coordinate returns or replacements.
• Ensure compliance with TBS, TFDA/TMDA, and internal quality standards for food processing.

Storage and Handling:

• Maintain proper storage conditions (temperature, humidity, cleanliness) based on the nature of materials.
• Ensure proper housekeeping and pest control measures are maintained in storage areas.
• Update stock levels daily and ensure accurate bin cards, inventory records, and system entries.

Coordination with Other Departments:

• Collaborate with procurement and inventory teams to monitor material stock levels and raise alerts for reordering.
• Coordinate with production for timely issuance of materials to avoid delays.
• Liaise with transport/logistics on delivery schedules and material offloading.

Recordkeeping and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of received, issued, and rejected materials.
• Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on stock movements and material status.
• Participate in periodic physical stock counts and reconciliations.

Health, Safety, and Hygiene:

• Enforce strict adherence to OSHA guidelines and food safety handling protocols.
• Train staff on safe handling of raw materials.
• Ensure that all raw materials staff wear the proper PPE and follow hygiene protocols.

Qualifications & Experience:

• Diploma or Degree in Food Science, Agriculture, Logistics, Supply Chain, or related fields.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in raw material or warehouse supervision, preferably in a food or beverage processing environment.
• Familiarity with food safety systems (HACCP, ISO 22000) is highly preferred.
• Understanding of Tanzania’s food regulatory framework and standards.

Working Conditions:

• Work is based in a factory, receiving dock, and storage areas.
• May involve lifting, prolonged standing, cold storage entry, and shift work.
• PPE must be worn as per food industry regulations.
