Position: Receptionist

Our hotel in Tanga, Tanzania, is dedicated to providing exceptional guest experiences through quality service, comfort, and hospitality. As the first point of contact for our guests, the Receptionist plays a key role in creating a welcoming and professional environment that reflects the values and standards of our hotel.
The Receptionist will be responsible for managing front desk operations, ensuring smooth check-in and check-out processes, handling guest inquiries, and delivering outstanding customer service throughout the guest’s stay.
Welcome guests warmly upon arrival and manage check-in and check-out procedures efficiently.
Answer phone calls, emails, and other inquiries promptly and professionally.
Provide accurate information about hotel services, room availability, and local attractions.
Process payments, issue invoices, and manage billing records accurately.
Maintain a clean and organized front desk and lobby area.
Resolve guest complaints or concerns promptly, ensuring customer satisfaction.
Coordinate with housekeeping and other departments to ensure rooms are ready and guest requests are fulfilled.
Maintain records of bookings, cancellations, and no-shows.
Uphold hotel security and safety protocols, including verifying guest identity and following emergency procedures.
Assist in administrative tasks and reporting as requested by management.
Diploma or Certificate in Hospitality Management, Front Office Operations, or a related field.
Minimum of 1–2 years of experience as a receptionist or front desk staff, preferably in the hotel or hospitality sector.
Proficiency in using hotel booking systems and basic office software.
Strong communication skills in both English and Swahili.
Customer-oriented with a friendly and professional demeanor.
Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
Neat appearance and strong organizational abilities.
Ability to work in shifts, including weekends and holidays.
Reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail.
Calm and composed under pressure.
